Taichi 'Tai' Kamiya

Taichi (Taichi Yagami in Japan) is very athletic and loves action adventure... as self-made leader of the group, Tai likes to take charge... but he's still learning about leadership, and the importance of considering other people's feelings... he is characterized as an adventurous character that wears a set of goggles, a characteristic that is shared among the leaders of the various DigiDestined (Chosen Children in the Japanese version) in Digimon. He is the older brother to Kari Kamiya (Hikari Yagami in Japan).
As a leader, he often acts first without realizing the consequences of his actions... This has led him to moments of friction and guilt between his friend/rival Matt Ishida (Yamato Ishida in Japan), his oldest friend Sora Takenouchi, as well as his Digimon partner Agumon. However, he manages to do whatever is necessary to rectify the situation, and in times of need, save friends and family from certain doom... He is the bearer of the Crest of Courage... His representative color is Orange and his elemental affinity is fire...



In season 2, he has entered high school (though in the original Japanese version, he and all the other older children are only in middle school)... Tai has grown emotionally by this time... He is much calmer and less likely to act without thinking... Tai (along with the other older DigiDestined) act as mentors through out most of season 2, but their not above giving a helping hand to their younger generation throughout the series...

In the year 2027, Tai has become a United Nations Diplomat for the Digital World. He has a son, whose partner is a Koromon...
